Music theory is kicking my ass today.
I was hanging out with my girlfriend on my campus the other day. We saw this rabbit.
Just did the drum solo from Ahmad’s Blues as one of my final assignments.
Nailed it.
Going to Starbucks in celebration because nowhere else has better coffee around here.
Suicide - Televised Executions
I am doing a paper on Suicide for my “Survey of North American Music Styles 1609- present” class and I think this may end up being one of the five pieces I can cite. You should check it out.
Got back from my juries not too long ago.
I did well on them! I had to play 2 songs, 2 snare drum solos and do some sight reading, and while the sight reading was my weakest point, the other two parts were completely awesome (and worth way more).
One of the judges also said I “have more power in my drumming than [I] know,” so that was pretty sweet, not to mention it sounds kinda badass.
I am off to buy beer for celebrating.
